Call for EMFA MADRID 2023 Awards

The Organising Committee of EMFA Madrid 2023 is pleased to announce the call for prizes for the best oral communications, posters and photographs in Forensic Archaeology, presented during the conference to be held at the Instituto de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses de Madrid on 28th and 29th September 2023.

  • Awards for the Best Photographs in Forensic Archaeology
    • This competition aims to reward the best photographs presented during the scientific meeting. The deadline is June 30, 2023.
    • The theme of these must be related to the thematic lines of the congress (https://forensicarchaeologymeeting.com/es/informacion/tematica-y-presentacion-de-trabajos/ ).
    • Non-original photographs, previously presented at other congresses, competitions or scientific publications, are not eligible to participate in this call.
    • Photographs must be submitted in the form and time specified in the section “Themes and Submission of Entries” https://forensicarchaeologymeeting.com/es/informacion/tematica-y-presentacion-de-trabajos/ . Works submitted in formats, deadlines or media other than those specified above will not be accepted.
    • It is possible to participate in this call individually (a single author) or collectively (on behalf of companies, institutions, university departments, associations,…). At least one author must be registered in the congress, either in person or online.
    • Each author or institution may participate with a maximum of three photographs.
    • The photographs selected by the Scientific Committee will be exhibited at the congress venue during the days of the meeting. The reproduction and mounting of the photographs for exhibition will be the responsibility of the congress organisers.
    • The selection of the winning photographs will be made at the discretion of a panel of three judges, chosen by the Organising Committee from among those attending the meeting. The decision of the panel will be final, and one or all of the prizes may be declared void, at the discretion of the panel.
    • The winning photographs will be announced during the closing ceremony of the Congress.
    • Endowment of the Awards for the Best Photographs in Forensic Archaeology:
      1. First Prize: 500 euros.
      2. Second Prize: 350 euros
      3. Third Prize: 200 euros.
    • The first prize in this competition is sponsored by the Colegio Profesional de Arqueología del Colegio Oficial de Doctores y Licenciados en Filosofía y Letras y en Ciencias de la Comunidad de Madrid.
